It might be 'capitalist', but it doesn't seem to be anywhere near the moral high ground. So, he's lowered himself to doing exactly the same thing that he spent all that time proclaiming as wrong and immoral. ![]() Now, he's changed his tune, and rather than continue to fight the good fight and act in accordance with his professed beliefs, he's apparently decided that if the content distributors can make money from DRM, so can he. He viewed DRM as a subversion of that law, and likewise viewed the DMCA which protected said DRM as unconstitutional. He believed that one you buy a copy of something, you should have a right to duplicate it for personal use, in accordance with US law. One of his oppositions to DRM is that is allows the content distributor (not creator) to profit multiple times from a single work. He put his money where is mouth was, and released free software to defeat DRM, risking imprisonment. The individual in question was morally opposed to DRM, and had spoken out publicly regarding it. which is why some have a poor view of capitalism.
